The event horizon of a black hole represent the region which the escape velocity equals the speed of light. As anything can travel through space faster than light, everything beyond the event horizon can not escape

the event horizon is literally nicknamed: The Point Of No Return. The Event horizon is also the bended space-time fabric that pulls everything to it, not even light or anything 10x faster then light cant escape its gravity's pull.
