Simplify (6x + 10)/7

Rewrite the whole as a fraction using 7 as the denominator

Combine the numerators together, put the sum or difference over the common denominator then reduce to lowest terms if possible

3x/7=0

6 x + 10 7 = x + 1 6 x + 10 = 7 ( x + 1 ) 6 x + 10 = 7 x + 7 10 = x + 7 x = 3 \dfrac{6x+10}{7} = x+1\\ 6x+10=7(x+1)\\ 6x+10=7x+7\\ 10=x+7\\ x=\boxed{3}
