1 solution

Let A A be the price of one kilogram of apple in $ and P P be the price of one kilogram of pear in $. Then we have the two equations

2 A = 2.5 P 2A=2.5P \color{#D61F06}\implies ( 1 ) (1)

10 A + 15 P = 66 10A+15P=66 \color{#D61F06}\implies ( 2 ) (2)

Solve for P P in terms of A A in ( 1 ) (1) , we get P = 2 2.5 A P=\dfrac{2}{2.5}A . Substitute the result in ( 2 ) (2) , we get A = 3 \boxed{A=3} .
