Note that a complex number has a real part and an imaginary part, but either one could be zero.

  • 3 = 3 + 0 i -3 = -3 + 0i is complex

  • 2 + 5 i 2 + 5i is complex

  • i 2 = 0 + i 2 i\sqrt{2} = 0 + i\sqrt{2} is complex

Therefore they are all complex numbers. \color{#20A900} \boxed{\text{they are all complex numbers.}}
