Carbon tetrachloride is a non-polar molecule. Since there are no permanent dipoles, there can be no dipole-dipole interactions. Similarly, there are no hydrogen atoms or ions present, so there can be no hydrogen bonds or ion-dipole interactions. All molecules have London dispersion forces, and in non-polar molecules, that is generally the only type of intermolecular force present.

What would be the case in chloroform
