The noble gases make a group of chemical elements with similar properties: under standard conditions, they are all odorless, colorless, monatomic gases with very low chemical reactivity. The six noble gases that occur naturally are helium ( H e \ce{He} ), neon ( N e \ce{Ne} ), argon ( A r \ce{Ar} ), krypton ( K r \ce{Kr} ), xenon ( X e \ce{Xe} ), and the radioactive radon ( R n \ce{Rn} ). Other than helium, the valence electron numbers of noble gases are all the same. What is it?

Noble gases follows the octet rule as seen in Lewis electron dot structure, it only has 8 dots and this 8 dots are the outermost electron that can either be shared, lose or gained. These are,the valence electrons. So noble gases have 8 valence electrons.

a valence electron is an electron that is associated with an atom, and that can participate in the formation of a chemical bond... as generally, no electrons participate in bond formation, answer is 0. for objective, see He has just 2 electrons, thus answer can't be 2 or 8 or 18: you can thus easily guess it but the answer is the above described one!
