We all know that 0.999... = 1 0.999...=1

When x = y x=y , ⌊ x ⌋ = ⌊ y ⌋ \left\lfloor x \right\rfloor =\left\lfloor y \right\rfloor (why not?)

Hence, ⌊ 0.999... ⌋ = ⌊ 1 ⌋ = 1 \boxed{\left\lfloor 0.999... \right\rfloor =\left\lfloor 1 \right\rfloor =1}
