Total score of both players = 137 + 79 = 216 = 137 + 79 = 216

Runs required by South Africa to win this match = 217 177 = 40 = 217 - 177 = 40

Hence required run-rate = 40 10 = 4 \dfrac{40}{10} = \boxed{4}

Total runs to make : min 217;

Runs remaining= 217-177=40;

Overs remaining=10;

therefore RR= 40/10= 4
