Initial velocity of football

A football player punts a football so that it will have a ‘hang time’ (time of flight) of 4.5 s 4.5 \text{ s} and then land 46 m 46 \text{ m} away. If the ball leaves the player’s foot 150 cm 150 \text{ cm} above the ground, what must be the magnitude of the ball’s initial velocity?

Details and Assumptions

  • The angle between the ball and ground at the moment of the punt kick is 65 ° . 65°.
  • Gravitational acceleration is 10 m/s 2 . 10 \text{ m/s}^{2}.
32 m/s 24 m/s 16 m/s 8 m/s

let velocity be V and distance covered be D so eqn forms is like Vcos€ t=D so Vcos65 (4.5)=46 solve the eqn..
