A plane passes through a sphere of radius 1 cm such that its perpendicular distance from the sphere's centre is 0.5 cm. Of the two parts thus generated, find the volume of the smaller part.


The answer is 0.6545.

When I came across this problem, it was a pretty long integral for me...so I used a bit of Electrostatics to find out the general expression and in this method the integration was of basic level.
