Since g ( x ) g(x) represents a straight line, the rate of change of g ( x ) g(x) is uniform. Therefore, by differentiating g ( x ) g(x) with respect to x x we get the rate of change − 9 -9 . So, average rate of change will also be same, that is, − 9 -9 .
