We already know the unit rate (how much of something per one unit), which is 4 meters per second. In order to find the # of seconds to run 52 meters, all we need to do is to divide 52 by 4 to get the number of seconds, which is 13 13 .

52 ÷ 4 = 13 52\div4 = 13

4 = 52 t t = 13 4 = \dfrac{52}{t} \implies \boxed{t=13}

The distance traveled by Alice increases by 4 4 meters every single second.

If Alice has traveled 52 52 meters, then she must have taken 52 ÷ 4 = 13 52\div 4= \boxed{13} seconds to travel.
