Because you know the answer is 0 or 1 and you are allotted three tries, you enter "0" on the first try, and it is incorrect. Then, you enter "1", and it is correct, so the answer is 1 \boxed{1}

what about solving it instead? :D

Every odd power of 4 will have 4 as the last digit. So Last digit of 4^5045 is 4. Any number having 5 as its last digit raised to any power should have 25 as its last 2 digits
