Is the tension same....??

There is a pendulum of mass 1.8 kg hanging through a thread of length 2.3 metre. Let the tension at this instant be T1. Now the string is cut and the pendulum moves to the highest position when it again comes at rest momentarily for the first time. Let the tension at that instant be T2.

Find the ratio T1:T2.

Give your ans in at least 4 decimal places

The answer is 1.33.

When the string is attached to string, due to the tension in the string(horizontal), tension in other string will be resolved in vertical direction.. But when the string is cut ,when bob comes momentraliy at rest for second time, velocity of bob is zero but acceleration is not zero, therefore tension force due to gravity will be resolved this time. hence we get the ans as 1/cos^2(30) mass of bob and length of string is given to confuse only.

I guess you were trying to make the problem complex by giving such data.
