Firstly the body should be dropped not thrown . we have u=0 g= 10m/s ^2 case 1 ; when body covers 6.2m let u=u , g=10m /s^2: s=6.2m:t=.2s now using second equation of motion we find u = 30m/s now for case 2 we have u=0 : g=10m/s^2:v=30m/s and now using third equation of motion we get s =45m now adding 45m and 6.2m we get 51.2m
