We are just multiplying 5 and the series follows the following pattern:

5^n where n = 0 , 1 ,2 ...

These are powers of 5 . 5^1=5 5^2=25 5^3=125 So the first one must be 5^0. Anythinh to the power 0 is one, hence it must be one Another way to look at it is that it is previous number 5, so x 5=5, this implies x=1
