Sum of all angles in a polygon is given by the formula

( n 2 ) (n-2) × × 180 180 where n n is the number of sides.

Simply substitute for n n

= = ( 6 2 ) (6-2) × × 180 180

= = 720 720 degrees

We can divide thr interior of the polygon into 4 4 triangles; thus, 180 × 4 = 720 180\times 4= 720 because the sum of angles in any triangle = 180 180
