Jack and Jill....

Jack and Jill are standing in different queues at the well to fetch water. Jack stands fifth from the front end, while seventh from the back end. Jill stands sixth from the front end and fourth from the back end. If the total number of people in their queues are different, what is the difference between them?

jack is 5 th from front and 7th from back thus there are (5+7)-1=11 people in the queue... now jill is 6th from front and 4th from back. so there are (6+4)-1=p people in her queue...

therefore 11-9= 2.....
