Jake's snakes

Logic Level 1

Jake has a large glass room where you can see his snakes, many, many of them, slithering around. It's feeding time, and Al & Betty are watching him feed them.

Al: "Wow, Jake! You must have more than 100 snakes in there!"

Betty. "No way, Al. There are quite a few snakes in there, but the number is less than a hundred."

Jake: "Both of you are wrong."

How many snakes does Jake have in his glass room?


The answer is 100.

Since Al is wrong, Jake does not have more than 100 snakes.

Since Betty is also wrong, Jake does not have fewer than 100 snakes.

Therefore, Jake must have EXACTLY 100 snakes.

Key number is 100 here. If it's not greater or less than 100. It has to be exactly 100.

As Al is wrong implies Snakes are not more than 100 As Betty is wrong implies Snakes are not less than 100 => Snakes =100

if snakes will be neither more than 100 nor less than 100 then they'll be obviously 100

Jake said that Al and Betty is wrong.so what Al said was that Jake must be having more than 100 snakes.as Jake said that Al is wrong we can know that he doesn't have snakes more than 100.and what Betty said was also wrong (which was less than 100 snakes).so again we can understand that he doesn't have snakes less than 100.so it will b 100 snakes

It's so easy. Al says the snakes is more than a one hundred , while Betty says its less than a hundred, but Jake says they are both wrong, so you can conclude that it is exactly 100.
