x + y = 1 x + y = ± 1 y = ± 1 x Which represents two straight lines in the x-y plane |x+y|=1 \implies x+y=\pm 1 \\ \boxed{y=\pm1-x} \\ \text{Which represents two straight lines in the x-y plane}

The graph is going to be two parallel lines, one that goes through ( 0 , 1 ) a n d ( 1 , 0 ) (0,1) \ and (1,0) and the other goes through ( 1 , 0 ) a n d ( 0 , 1 ) (-1,0) \ and (0,-1)
