Given the longest side of an isosceles right angled triangle is 16

Let the adjacent side be x

\Rightarrow c o s 45 cos 45 = 1 2 \frac {1}{\sqrt{2}} = x 16 \frac {x}{16}

\Rightarrow x= 16 2 \frac {16}{\sqrt{2}}

\Rightarrow x= 38.63 \boxed{38.63}

Given triangle is isosceles so two sides of this triangle will be equal and let equal sides be x.Also,given longest side of triangle(hypotenuse) is 16m. Now applying pythagoras theorem, x^2+x^2=16^2 simplying it, we get x=11.3 now perimeter of triangle=11.3+11.3+16=38.6
