The momentum of the bullet is m v 0.02 v = 10 v = 500. mv \longrightarrow 0.02v = 10 \longrightarrow v = 500.

Therefore, the kinetic energy of the bullet is 1 2 m v 2 1 2 ( 0.02 ) ( 500 ) 2 = 2500 J = 2.5 k J \frac{1}{2}mv^2 \longrightarrow \frac{1}{2}(0.02)(500)^2 = 2500 J = 2.5 kJ
