Knight Or Knave? Dun Dun DUUUUUUUNN!!

Logic Level 1

On a certain island, there are only two types of islanders:

knights , who always tell the truth, and
knaves , who always lie.
You meet two girls; Emma and Peg
Each one of them makes a statement.
Emma = I am a knave or a knight
Peg = Emma is a Knave

Who is the knight and who is the knave? Please write up solutions and comment!

Emma is a knight and Peg is a knave. Emma is a Knight and so is Peg Peg is a Knight and Emma is a Knave Emma is a knave and so is Peg.

Emma can not be lying, or she would only say that she was a knight. So Peg must be lying. Emma is a knight and Peg is a knave.

Emma's statement is a tautology so Emma is a knight. Peg falsely calls Emma of being a knight, so Peg is a knave.

If Emma is a Knave then her statement saying she is a knight or a knave is false. So Emma HAS to be a knight. But what is Peg? If Peg was a knight then her statement would be false for she says, Emma is a knave. Although we aldready know Emma is a knight. So therfore Peg is a Knave and Emma is a knight. Hope this helps!
