Lands' Riddle

Logic Level 2

A wealthy landlord had left his 3 3 sons an 8 × 8 8\times 8 unit 2 \text{unit}^2 land with 4 4 water reservoirs, represented as blue squares above.

In his will, it was written that this big piece of land must be divided equally among the 3 3 brothers with the following conditions:

  • The water areas would be considered as no-man's lands, and the three brothers could share them for any water supply.
  • The green areas would need to be partitioned into smaller rectangular areas of at least 4 unit 2 4 \text{ unit}^2 a piece, which must not involve the water areas.

As an explicit example, the image below demonstrates one attempt to divide the land, though it's still not legal, because of the purple rectangle of 2 2 unit 2 \text{unit}^2 remaining on top, thus not satisfying the second condition. (The division here is 19-19-20 with 2 undistributed, i.e. uneven red-yellow-green with purple left over.)

Is it possible to divide the land equally to the 3 3 brothers, according to the will?

Note : Each piece of rectangular land may border other pieces of any colors.
