The excess pressure is given by Δ P = 2T / R \Delta \text P = {\text{2T}}/{\text R}

The rise in capillary to compensate the excess pressure = ρ g H =\rho g\text H

Equating both we get R × H = constant \text R\times\text H = \text{constant}
