b l u e \Huge \color{#D61F06}{\color{#20A900}{blue}}

But what's the reason behind it, why red is not working?

Is there even a good reason why this is the case? I honestly have no clue why. The LaTeX code just seems to work that way. Do you have a reason to maybe why this is the case?

One day,I was experimenting with latex,i thought will happen if I use 2 colors in one word,then there might be hybrid of both the colors but poor latex doesn't able to do so.
I just uploaded it as a question just for fun..

First note that\color{red} will be the same.Now \color {green}{blue}} yields: b l u e \Large {\color{#20A900}{blue}}
