Sound needs matter to propagate, it does not propagate in vacuum. The question is therefore meaningless.

And yet you took the time to answer it and then write a comment. Ironic.

Mechanical waves (sound waves) need to compress mass-bearing matter in order to propagate. That is why they can also be addressed as 'compressional waves'. In vacuum there is no matter, so sound waves cannot propagate.
