Length of Stick

You have eight sticks each of integer length. What is the smallest possible length of the largest stick among those such that no three sticks can be used to form a triangle?

Basically inequality theorem of triangle. Start with 1,1,2.. Which in turn forms Fibonacci's series 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21..

I believe this problem should require that the sticks be of distinct lengths. Otherwise, wouldn't 3 be a solution? (Say six sticks of length one, one of length two and one of length three.)

If you have six sticks of length one, you can form an equilateral triangle with side length 1.
