Length of the conference room table

Let $l$ and $w$ be the length and width of the conference table, respectively. Let $A$ be the area of the conference room table. Since the conference table is a rectangle, thus $A = l \times w$ . We are given that $A = 45 \mbox{ ft}^2$ and $w = 3 \mbox{ ft}$ . Thus $l = \frac{A}{w} = \frac{45 \mbox{ ft}^2}{3 \mbox{ ft}} = 15 \mbox{ ft}$ is the length of the conference table.
