The Swimming pool has 2 nos of long wall plus two nos of short walls along with floor. Hence total five surfaces to be covered with tiles. No of Tiles for Floor---(120 x 60 )/(3 x 6) =400 No of Tiles for Long Walls ---2 x (120 x 12) / ( 3 x 6)=160 --------Two nos. of side walls ( long) No of Tiles for Short Walls---2 x ( 60 x 12 ) / ( 3 x 6 + =80----------Two nos of side walls ( short)

Total Nos. of Tiles required- 400 + 160 + 80=640

Note:-- Convert Swimming Pool dimensions into inches

  1. 1ft. = 12 in. The swimming pool = 120 x 60 x 12 in. The tile = 18 i n . 2 in.^{2}
  2. For the base, 120 x 60 in. = 7200 i n . 2 in.^{2} , then divided by tiles = 400 tiles For the width side, 60 x 12 in. = 720 i n . 2 in.^{2} , then, there are 40 tiles. for two sides, we get 80 tiles For the length side, 120 x 12 in. = 1440 i n . 2 in.^{2} , then, there are 80 tiles. for two sides, we get 160 tiles All of this total up to 640 tiles
