Four kids

Logic Level 3

There are four regular 9-year-olds without weapons, Sam, Jack, James and Jessica, who were getting ice cream. Then the police came and found a dead adult man. Since the kids were the only ones there, he asked all of them questions and this is what the kids said:

  • Sam: I didn't do it! James did it!
  • Jack: It wasn't me I didn't see anything in the first place.
  • James: Me and Jessica did nothing bad! Sam and Jack did all the harm!
  • Jessica: Me and James didn't do anything! Sam and Jack did it!

The police officer arrested one/some of the kid(s). The kid(s) he arrested were not innocent. The officer caught the guilty kid(s).

Who did he arrest?

The answer is easy since no one regular kid or 2 can kill an adult without a weapon. Therefore, the only reasonable answer is that they all did it.

I don't want to discuss how to kill a person, but I think a kid could do that, maybe they gave the man poisonous ice cream...
