y = ln ⁡ ( x − 3 ) y=\ln(x-3)

Logarithmic functions are only defined for positive real values, therefore

x − 3 > 0 ⟹ x > 3 x-3 > 0\implies x>3

This can be written as ( 3 , ∞ ) (3,\infty)

Therefore, a = 3 a=\boxed{3}
