Consider that (when x = 0; y = 2) and find the value of b.

We have the linear equation y = a x + log b = a x + 1 2 log b y =ax + \log \sqrt{b} = ax + \frac{1}{2}\log b . At the point ( x , y ) = ( 0 , 2 ) (x,y) = (0,2) we obtain:

2 = 1 2 log b 4 = log b b = 10000 . 2 = \frac{1}{2} \log b \Rightarrow 4 = \log b \Rightarrow \boxed{b = 10000}.
