The MLSH test is a big test that some people take worldwide (the test isn't actually real). The test is very protective of student privacy. When the results come out, the scores of students in any area are displayed as an average; however, if only one student tested in that area, the score is displayed as an asterisk. The goal of displaying asterisks is to prevent anyone from viewing a failing score where only one student tested. However, naturally, everyone likes to view passing scores, and students want other people to see their passing scores too. Is it possible to display passing scores for an area where only one student tested while still preventing viewers from knowing when an individual student failed (meaning that in an area where only one student tested and failed, viewers won't know that student failed)?

If student's score is not displayed then it is clear that he failed.
