x+2 = 2*(x-5) => x+2 = 2x -10 => 2 +10 = 2x - x => 12 = x => x = 12 so age is 12

It's easy,even fools can solve it .

let the girl's age be x . therefore the equation is

x + 2 = 2 ( x - 5 )
x+2 = 2x-10
2x-x = 10+2
x = 12

Girl's age be x . therefore the equation is x + 2 = 2 ( x - 5 ) x+2 = 2x-10 2x-x = 10+2 x = 12

Let her present age be y and ex-age be x... therefore, in two years means after two years she will be (y+2) years old. so, it is given that her ex-age was 5 years and she is twice of it + 2 years .. therefore... her present age , Y= (2x+2) = 2*5+2 = 12
