Chemistry Level 3

Take pent-3-ene-1-yne. Add N a N H X 2 \ce{NaNH2} followed by ethyl bromide. Then add excess of aq. K M n O X 4 \ce{KMnO4} to it followed by addition of periodate.

What is the number of final products in the end reaction (consider the compounds containing carbon only)?

@aryan goyat Looks really surprising coz we have been taught(FIITJEE) this that KMno4 does also oxidises alkyne and then 2 molecules of water eliminate to form the diketone. I'm sure the reaction DOES NOT proceed with a peroxy acid followed by hydrolysis, but masterorganicchemistry.com is RARELY incorrect. Confusing :(

So according to you what is the correct answer

Isnt alkene electron density higher than alkyne electron density. So attack should be on alkene.
