Making a cube part 3

Geometry Level 1

A cube is to be made from a single unit square of paper. We are allowed to cut and reassemble the paper as much as we want to make a net which is then folded to make the cube. What is the maximum volume, V V , of cube we can make?

Let a a be the least integer such that V 1 a V \ge \frac{1}{a} . Enter the value of a a .

The six squares must each have area 1 6 \frac{1}{6} and side length 1 6 \sqrt{\frac{1}{6}} so the volume is 1 6 3 \sqrt{\frac{1}{6}}^{3} . The reciprical of this is 6 3 2 14.7 6^{\frac{3}{2}} \approx 14.7 so the answer is 15 \boxed{15}
