There is a set of 100 statements. Here the first statement states that exactly 1 of the statements in this set is false, the second statement states that exactly 2 of the statements in this set are false, and so on. Thus the 100th statement states that all the statements in the set are false. Only 1 statement is true among these, find the serial number of this true statement.

Details and assumptions: If the 32nd statement is true then write 32

Every statement states the number of false statements. If we start from hundred, then it states that 100 statements are false which cant be true as it contradicts the 100th statement. so in the 99th statement it states that 99 statements are false except the 99th statement. so the answer is 99

This question took me a few tries at first and when I processed the information, I got this:

Every statement is the number of false statements, so if we started from 100 that means 100 statements are false, and since exactly one is true, the 100th statement can not be true. Therefore, in the 99th statement, it states at all the others are false besides this one, and this makes sense, so the answer is 99.
