use sine rule: 2/sin30 i.e. 4=l/sinx. this implies that l=4sinx, where maximum value of sinx=1. Thus, the maximum value of l=4.

given

       < O = 30

        AB= 2

find: OB

so i used this formula: tan A = y / x

substitute:

                              tan<O =AB /  OB

                              tan 30 = 2/ OB

                              OB = 2 / tan 30

                               OB = 3.4641

so i came up with an answer of 3.5...

but the correct answer is 4...
