Me Vs Calvin

I have posted 3 problems till now and I have 11 followers.Calvin on the other hand has 2234 followers.Let us assume that every time I post 3 more problems I get additional 11 followers.What is the minimum number of problems I need to post starting from now so that my number of followers is just greater than Calvin's?

Assumptions: Remember i already have 11 followers.

If I post 609 problems then i get 11 followers for every 3 problems.My number of followers after posting 609 problems will be 2233.As (609/3)*11=2233.But since i have already 11 followers so my total followers will be 2244 which is now greater than Calvin's followers.

Calculated the answer as 609 but clicked on 606 by mistake.. :(

Good luck beating Calvin! He is one of the people on this website that is extremely well known, like Finn, Sharky, Ammar, and Cole only he seems to be above them in terms of followers.

The problem was sufficiently crafty. The picture though, that is something I really appreciated.

Hello,

As ME=11 followers>(posted 3 problems), Calvin=>2234 followers,

at the beginning ME has 11 followers,

11,22,33,...........,2233, 2233 is divisible by 11,so to get ME > Calvin,

let n=number of times posted,

by arithmetic, a=11,d=11,Tn=2233

Tn=a+(n-1)d

2233=11+(n-1)11

n=2233/11=203, since that n=203 times, therefore number of problems= 203 x 3 = 609...remember that me has 11 foollowers,by 609 problems posted, he has 2233 followers, therefore his total followers=2233+11=2244( which is > 2234),final answer is 609 problems posted...thanks...

But you've made the assumption you post problems in sets of three, in actuality, using this model. Each problem = 11/3 followers, thus (2234-11)/(11/3) = 2223/11 *3 = 606.27... Thus we must round up to 607, not 609.

3 problems=11 followers 1 problem=11/3 followers Then 609 problems=11/3x609=2233 which is greater than calvins

Calvin has 2234 followers and Aman has 11 followers so 2234-11=2223. For every 11 followers Aman has to post 3 problems so for 1 follower Aman has to post 3/11 problems and for 2223 followers(the number of followers Aman wants more) he'll have to post 2223*3/11=606.27. (Simple Unitary Method)
