Let side a = 10 a = 10 , b = 6 b = 6 , c = 5 c = 5 and median be m a { m }_{ a } .

Therefore, median =

m a = 2 b 2 + 2 c 2 a 2 2 { m }_{ a }=\frac { \sqrt { 2{ b }^{ 2 }+2{ c }^{ 2 }-{ a }^{ 2 } } }{ 2 }

On solving, we get that

m a = 22 2 { m }_{ a }=\frac { \sqrt { 22 } }{ 2 }

But the square of answer is asked. Therefore answer =

( 22 2 ) 2 = 22 4 = 5.5 ({ \frac { \sqrt { 22 } }{ 2 } })^{ 2 }=\frac { 22 }{ 4 } =5.5

Just a hint for now, use Appolonius Theorem.
