There is actually a formula for the angle between the hands of a clock:

Angle = ( 60 times Hour Hand Integer minus 11 times Minute Hand Integer ) / Divided by 2.

And when negative, you take the absolute value.

Please forgive my horrendous formula, I can't LaTeX.

If we did it by unitary method : 15 min is 90degrees so when there is a difference of 6 , 6 min = 90/15 *6= 36

The angle difference between the minute marks on the clock is 6 degrees.

Let the minute hand above 12 be designated 0 and count in clockwise direction.

At 1:12 the minute hand is pointing at 12 and the hour hand will point at 6.

Therefore the angle between the hour hand and the minute hand is 6 X 6 which equals 36
