A bird shooter was asked how many birds he had in the bag. He replied that there were all sparrows but six, all pigeons but six and all ducks but six. How many birds had he in all ?

when "He replied that there were all sparrows but six, all pigeons but six and all ducks but six" is said, you understand that the remaining number of birds is 6 and species is 2. 6÷2 =3. And the number of kinds of birds is 3 so 3×3 =9.
