Milk & water Ratio Problem

In a mixture of 60 litres, the ratio of milk and water 2 : 1. If this ratio is to be 1 : 2, then the quanity of water to be further added is:

The quantities of milk and water are $40$ and $20$ litres respectively.

Now, if the ratio is to be $1:2$ , the amount of water must be double the amount of milk, which is $80$ litres.

Hence the amount to be added is $80-20=60$ litres.
