The recoil velocity of a gun is m a s s o f t h e b u l l e t × v e l o c i t y o f t h e b u l l e t m a s s o f t h e g u n \frac{mass of the bullet\times velocity of the bullet}{mass of the gun} = 5 × 500 50 =\frac{5\times500}{50} = 50 m s 1 =50ms^{-1}

Let ,

m = mass of bullet = 5 g

v = velocity of bullet = 500 m/s

M = mass of gun = 50 g

V = velocity of gun = ?????

We Know That ,

MV = mv

So ,

V = mv / M = ( 5 x 500 ) / 50 = 50 m/s

Thus , the recoil velocity of the gun is 5 m/s.
