Miser King!

Once, a general of a king's army asked for $10,00,000 as retirement reward. The king, being a miser, puts up a hoax for him - He promises him to give 50,00,000 brass (brass is one fifth of dollar) but on a condition - He (general) must go to general coffers everyday and bring his amount to king and take it to home. On the first day, he have to bring one brass to king, on the second day 2 brass , on the third day 4 brass and so on (Each brass will be twice the size of previous brass) ....So the general was ready to enjoy his unlimited wealth . On the first day, he was to carry a 5 gram brass and so on. He was able to make 262143 brass only due to heavy brasses in last . His amount was what part of what he demanded ?
