Each term in the analogy is of the form n : n 4 n : \sqrt[4]{n} . So, 4096 : 4096 4 : : 1296 : 1296 4 4096 : 8 : : 1296 : 6 \begin{aligned} 4096 : \sqrt[4]{4096} ~:&:~ 1296 : \sqrt[4]{1296} \\ 4096 : 8 ~:&:~ 1296 : \boxed{6} \\ \end{aligned}

I did manage to solve this, but next time generally I would give 3 starting terms for a pattern.
