A problem by Ryan Wang

Level 1

William has 10 apples and gave his friend Jayden 1/3 of 1 apple. Which statement must be true about how many apples Jayden has now?

Jayden will have less apples than how many he had before Jayden will have more apples than how many he had before. Jayden will have more apples than William. Jayden will have less apples than William. Jayden will have 1/5 of one apple.

He could have had more than or 9 and 1/2 (generalised) before he got the 1/3 of an apple. That means the only one that can always be true is that he had more than before.

Well, we should probably assume that that will probably not happen. BTW, hi Ayaan.
