mol of three gases

Chemistry Level 2

The following three gases are contained in a certain container with temperature 0 0 ^\circ C and pressure 1 1 atm. How many moles of gas molecules are in this container? (The atomic weight of O is 16 16 .)

1) 12.04 × 1 0 23 12.04 \times 10^{23} Nitrogen (N 2 _2 ) molecules

2) 11.2 11.2 L of hydrogen (H 2 _2 ) gas

3) 16 16 g of oxygen (O 2 _2 ) gas

1.5 moles 3 moles 3.5 moles 4.5 moles

no. of moles of N2 = 12.04 x 10^23 / 6.02 x 10^23 ( Each mole has 6.022 x10^23 molecules ) no. of moles of H2 = 11.2/22.4 ( at I bar pressure, and 0 degree C, 1 mole of every gas occupy 22.4 L (approximately) of volume ( Avogadro's law, modified form ) no. of moles of O2 = 16/32 ( 16 x 2 = 32 )
