General formula for M o l a r i t y Molarity is:

Molarity = No. of moles of solute Total volume of solution (in litres) \text{Molarity}=\dfrac{\text{No. of moles of solute}}{\text{Total volume of solution (in litres)}}

Thereby,

M = 4 2 = 2 M=\dfrac{4}{2}=\boxed{2}
